Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we?!
Hi, I’m Jen. I enjoy writing and singing and I am so excited to be here, talking to all of you wonderful, beautiful readers!
What prompted you to pursue a career as a writer?
What prompted me to become a writer was kind of an accident, to be honest with you. It started with me dabbling in fan fiction. I’m a huge tv nerd. A few people read them and I got glowing reviews and mind you, I didn’t take much time to edit them at all. Not even grammar-wise. So I continued writing them and ended up writing a mini series for one of my fandoms (I’ve written many for a couple of fandoms) that turned out to be the length of a real novel. It made me realize that I could take my eye for detail and tell my own stories. My overactive imagination has not faded with age, and so I put my imagination on paper and just let it run wild. I wrote my first novel in six months and adored the process. Now I can’t really stop myself from writing.
Do you have any special writing habits?
I don’t know if I would say it’s anything special, but I enjoy hiding when I write. We have an empty bedroom that I turned into a writing room and it’s got a couch with a giant teddy bear, a big chair and lamps. There’s little knick knacks and such to make the room a pleasant environment and I like to burn sage or incense. Also, musical scores are very mood setting for me.
When you write a new book, do you already have the whole story in mind or do you elaborate it along the way?
The process of how a plan a book out in my mind tends to be different with each new project. For my first book, I had like the entire thing planned out in my head, sans smaller details, but along the way the story took on a life of its own and even I am surprised that it went the way that it did.
In your opinion what is the best book you have written? What’s your favourite book ever?
Currently my favorite is my second one. Love & Betrayal; the Wars of Olympus. It’s got so many plot twists with romance, deceit and it Kris asking questions until the very end. However, my third novel is not complete, so in a month or two, that could end up being my new favorite.
How do you feel after writing a book?
Sad, actually. I always feel a sense of loss when I finish writing a book the same way I feel when I finish reading a good book. I feel a little lost when I’ve spent six months or a year with the same characters in my head and on my screen day in and day out. I grow very attached to them, so it can be difficult to let go of them at the end. The sense of accomplishment I get tends to outweigh the bad, so I absolutely love that swelling pride that I get in my chest and I get so excited for other people to consume the story who doesn’t have any insights on the story.
Tell us about your latest book and please put the link so our readers can find it.
My latest book is Love & Betrayal; the Wars of Olympus. Like the title suggests, it takes place for a time in Olympus as well as several places around the world. There’s an ancient multi way feud, or a plethora of feuds from thousands of years ago. Now in present times a young human woman gets sort of swept up into the war, but she isn’t quiet there by happenstance. I also incorporated Norse Mythology into the book, as well as some Egyptian and it was just so much fun to write it and bring all of these mythical characters to life and see how they would interact with each other. I would not recommend it for anyone under maybe sixteen years old.
Do you have a new release? When? We want details.
I do actually have a new release coming before the end of the year. It is my third in total and the third this year that I have published. The story has up until this point been a bit of secret. You are the first public announcement to hear that it’s a sequel to my first novel, From Where the Moon Howls. The new one follows up eight years after the first one and it’s titled From Where the Moon Shines and just like the first one, this new book is filled with romance, violence and werewolves. It is meant for a bit more of a mature audience than its prequel.

Do you have a pre-order link? Share it with us
Not yet, but keep an eye out for it! From where the Moon Shines could be available by as soon as November. We’ll see what happens. It could make a great Christmas gift for a sister, girlfriend or mother. I’m thinking of doing a Christmas special so readers can get them both in a bundle. You can see me around authors pages on fb, or you can always look me up personally. I advertise for my work there pretty often.
Where can we find you on socials? Do you have your own group and want to share it with us?
Facebook, as I mentioned before. I haven’t set up a page, because I don’t feel like I have the status for that just yet, but maybe someday. You can also catch me on tumblr. My name is allmyfandoms93 or Love Is Written Word. Thank you so much for having me and taking the time to read this. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I look forward to connecting with you.
