Our Authors Interview

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we?!

I am Sohini Maitra, a first time author | Mommy of two awesome Indian mix-breed doggies, they are my world | Reading is as quintessential for me as breathing – fiction & graphic novels rock my world | Love old school music | Almost funny, seriously | Content writer by profession

What prompted you to pursue a career as a writer?

I had promised my Grandpa that I’d write a book. Short stories enticed me a lot, I grew up reading short stories of Bernard Shaw, O Henry, Jeffrey Archer and the likes. So when the time came for me to write, I obviously chose short stories for my maiden publication.

Do you have any special writing habits?

Not really. Peace and quiet is mandatory and my dogs must be in front of me doing whatever they want.

When you write a new book, do you already have the whole story in mind or do you elaborate it along the way?

No. I am writing my second one now and although I have the flow ready, however, I don’t know the ending yet. It will come to me eventually.

In your opinion what is the best book you have written? What’s your favourite book ever?

I have only written one book so far.

How do you feel after writing a book?

Mixed feelings. Releaved because the writing part is over, but butterflies in my stomach because editing, then finding a publisher and the entire rigmarole is just about to start.
