Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we?!
My name is J.M. Gasilla Barrios, a 22-year-old published author living in Naga City, a small city located in the southern part of the island of Luzon in the Philippines.
What prompted you to pursue a career as a writer?
Reading and writing were always been my passion ever since it became my outlet when I was going through the hardest part of my life. Books left so much impact in me that I also wanted to provide an escape from reality to the people who are also going through hardships through my fictional works and stories.
Do you have any special writing habits?
I always write in longhand first before typing the whole thing on the computer. Also, I dont want anyone else using or even touching the pen and paper I am using that is designated for my stories.
When you write a new book, do you already have the whole story in mind or do you elaborate it along the way?
I elaborate it along the way. Planning the story is a nice strategy in writing but a better plot always seems to invade my head whenever I am writing. It looks like my character wanted something else to happen.
In your opinion what is the best book you have written? What’s your favourite book ever?
I can’t say since they are all different. The books I work with holds unique personalities that cannot be compared with one another. Besides, one book almost became a reflection or a reminder of a section of my life as I was working with it.
How do you feel after writing a book?
Sad since it felt like I left a world I am so happy to be part in yet the time finally ended and left all of the people in there alone but happy that another story is finally complete.
Tell us about your latest book and please put the link so our readers can find it.
The book that I have been promoting is titled as “Claiming Time”. It is a story about a guy named Charlton who accidentally met a girl named Time and met every evening after that when the sky is clear and the starts are shinning brightly, which is rare for the town infamous for its heavy rains. The only catch is that only Charlton can see her, no one else exist on her world.
Do you have a new release? When? We want details.
I am working with my publisher with a new book and we still haven’t decided with the releasing date yet. I will be releasing information about the upcoming book on my social media accounts but as of now, all I can say is that it is going to be unique.
