Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we?!
Hey, myself Prateek Singh, a boy from humble background who thought of pursuing engineering and business as a career but found himself in the world filled with smell of freshly printed books.
What prompted you to pursue a career as a writer?
I have always thought of keeping writing as my hobby where I could make my imagination come true, or write whatever I feel like. But along the way while doing my graduation I figure out I am slightly better than people around me in creating stories and writing them down with detail to enchant readers, so I started giving more time to my hobby. Till now I have not pursued writing as my full time career though I have spent a short time of my career as a Print Media Journalist where I used to write things daily as part of my job.
Do you have any special writing habits?
I usually write things after 1 o’ clock in the night while listening to same 2-3 songs I have been listening from ages now.
When you write a new book, do you already have the whole story in mind or do you elaborate it along the way?
While writing a book I always keep a thought of how the flow of the story should be, what characters will be doing next or how the sub story will be intertwine with main plot. But given the time I tend to improvise a lot from the structure I lay down before writing the book till the time I complete it.
In your opinion what is the best book you have written? What’s your favourite book ever?
I don’t think I have written the best book of mine till date but I hope my upcoming romantic fictional novel to be one step ahead of previous ones. Ah! my favorite books are many but the ones I like the most among all is Rumi – A New Translation.
How do you feel after writing a book?
After writing a book I feel relaxed, optimized and accomplished.
